Did you know there are four elements of exam success?
Most Eleven Plus programmes only focus on two of them. And yet, unless all four are nurtured, your child is unlikely to reach their potential in an exam situation.
The four elements:

KNOWLEDGE

SKILLS

MINDSET

WELLBEING
Why all four elements matter:
It makes sense that a good grasp of the relevant skills and knowledge are important for exam success. That's why so many Eleven Plus programmes focus on exam content and skills practice.
It’s also logical that, to function at their best in an exam situation, your child needs to be feeling well and in a positive frame of mind.
And yet, the two key elements of Mindset and Wellbeing are so often overlooked when it comes to exam preparation.
Think about this for a moment: You wouldn't expect a world class athlete to win a race if they weren't feeling well or in a winning mindset...
...So how can we expect our children to achieve academically if they're anxious, lacking in confidence or disengaged with learning?
What’s more, the importance of mindset to success in all walks of life has been demonstrated in numerous studies...and yet it's still woefully missing throughout our education system.
The good news is that there are some simple steps you can take to help your child improve their Mindset and Wellbeing. What's more, this will have a valuable impact on all areas of their (and your) lives - not just on the outcome of the tests…
Now surely that's a no-brainer?!

At Unravelled, we understand the importance of all four elements.
That’s why we take a holistic approach to education that views each child as a whole being - with interconnected mind, body and spirit – not just a brain to be filled with information.
Because if your child is feeling physically and emotionally balanced, they are far more likely to learn effectively and to recall and apply their skills and knowledge in an exam situation.
Our founder, Sian Goodspeed, has understood this since she began her career in education, back in 1996. (To read more about Sian's background and experience, check out our story.)
Over the past twenty-five years, Sian has helped thousands of students to achieve their educational goals whilst also maintaining their health and happiness...And, of course, this has a positive knock-on effect in all aspects of their lives.
For us, that's a win-win situation. :-)
